Meet Sophia Sinot

You might not know her name, but you’ve definitely seen her work - this week in Meet the Backstage, we’re spotlighting Sophia Sinot, the makeup artist responsible for some of Doja Cat’s most jaw-dropping looks.

Born in the Netherlands, Sophia’s journey into the beauty world began at just nine years old when she discovered Michelle Phan’s YouTube tutorials. Eventually she enrolled in the House of Orange, a prestigious makeup school in Amsterdam.

In 2021, Sophia took her talents to London, launching her career on an international stage. Her bold, innovative style quickly made her the go-to makeup artist for A-list celebrities worldwide. She also built a big fanbase among MUAs online, where she is known as “lip combo queen” for her unique lip creations and trends, often inspired by the human mind and technology.

One of Sophia’s first clients in the music industry was singer Zara Larsson. She later worked with big names like Doja Cat, creating bold looks for her during Paris Fashion Week. Sophia also handled the beauty direction for Rimon’s debut music video and Thirty Seconds to Mars’ latest music video, Stuck.

In 2024, Sophia joined singer Camila Cabello on tour as her official makeup artist. She worked on events like the Met Gala and the Glastonbury Festival, as well as photoshoots for magazines such as Elle Mexico.

Sophia isn’t just a makeup artist, she’s a visionary. She’s been pushing the boundaries of the beauty world by working with artificial intelligence to create revolutionary projects and edgy trends, continuing to inspire MUAs around the globe.

While we don’t yet know who she’ll be working with this season, one thing is certain: it will be astounding.
