Meet Stevie Aiello

If you’ve ever found yourself vibing to Thirty Seconds to Mars songs, then guess what? You’re already a fan of Stevie Aiello’s work. In this week’s Meet the Backstage, we’re hyping up Stevie Aiello, the secret weapon behind some of the band’s biggest moments.

Stevie Aiello was born into an Italian-American family in Rhode Island, where his passion for music began at an early age. In 1998, he and his friends started Monty Are I, where Stevie did it all—singing, playing multiple instruments, and writing songs. The band killed it on the Warped Tour for three years straight and even had tracks featured in popular games like Tony Hawk’s Project 8 and ATV Offroad Fury 4.

Stevie isn’t just a singer: from playing the guitar (both acoustic and electric) to rocking the bass and keyboards, he does it all, which is the reason why he’s been able to crush it in so many different musical roles.

In 2013, Stevie joined Thirty Seconds to Mars’ crew as their touring bassist and multi-instrumentalist. His contributions also goes beyond the stage: Stevie has co-written several tracks with the band, including the hits Walk on Water and Dangerous Night from their 2018 album America.

Stevie has been part of some insane Thirty Seconds to Mars moments. Rocking at festivals like Rock am Ring and Lollapalooza or his solo during "Hail to the Victor" on the Seasons World Tour are just some examples. Fans love how he gives all of him keeping the energy sky-high.

Stevie doesn’t just perform—he writes hits, too. His songwriting credits include not only Thirty Seconds to Mars tracks but also songs for other major artists like Sleeping with Sirens (“Legends”) and Falling in Reverse (“Superhero”). Basically, if it’s a good alternative song, Stevie’s probably had a hand in it.

Truth is: Stevie Aiello is a legend in the making. His journey from Warped Tour to huge festivals all over the world shows just how talented he is.

So, next time you’re vibing to Thirty Seconds to Mars or another killer track, check the credits—you might just find Stevie’s name there.
