Olivia Rodrigo plays her first stadium concert ever
Olivia Rodrigo is headlining many Lollapalooza festivals across Latin America, and last night, she made an extra stop on her GUTS World Tour in Curitiba, Brazil, for her first-ever stadium concert at just 22 years old. The show took place at Couto Pereira Stadium, which has hosted big names like Coldplay and Bruno Mars in the past. Fans from all over Brazil gathered for the sold-out event, with around 40,000 people in attendance.
Opening the night was American singer St. Vincent, who delivered an amazing performance that set the perfect mood for what was to come. When Olivia took the stage, the crowd, true to Brazilian style, was loud and full of energy, surprising even Olivia herself.
She kicked off her set with bad idea right?, debuting a new outfit, a glittery silver two-piece, while the audience screamed along to every word. The energy only grew as she moved into ballad of a homeschooled girl.
Slowing things down, Olivia moved to the piano for emotional hits like drivers license, traitor, and teenage dream, made even more special by the light rain that had just started to fall. Thousands of phone lights illuminated the stadium, creating a breathtaking sea of stars.
One of the most magical moments of the night was making the bed, during which Olivia stood on a high platform surrounded by cascading lights, captivating the entire audience, even those in the farthest seats.
The setlist featured fan favourites like vampire, deja vu, and good 4 u, for a total of 20 songs.
Throughout the night, Olivia's connection with her fans was undeniable. Between songs, she took time to share personal stories and express her gratitude, making the massive stadium feel intimate and loved.
“I think they were onto something when they said Brazil has the best crowds of the world.”
As the final notes echoed through Couto Pereira Stadium, Olivia thanked the crowd and promised to come back to Brazil soon. The night ended with an explosion of confetti and a standing ovation, ensuring this concert would be forever remembered by both Olivia and her Brazilian fans.
Olivia is bringing the GUTS World Tour back to Europe this summer, and we can’t wait to experience it for ourselves!
