5 singers who gave voice to animated characters
Earlier this month, we were surprised with the news that Rihanna would be joining the cast of The Smurfs, voicing the one and only Smurf girl ever known to exist, Smurfette. Inspired by that, we decided to share five other artists who gave their voices to our favorite animated characters in the cinema:
Selena Gomez – We know she started out as an actress, but she was also the voice of Mavis from the Hotel Transylvania series, our favorite vampire girl
Beyoncé – Queen Bey took on the role of Nala in The Lion King remake of 2019 and its prequel Mufasa, proving she's royalty in more ways than one
Bruno Mars – We’ve all seen the Bruno Márcio memes, but his relationship with Brazil goes way back: he voiced Roberto in Rio 2, proving he’s been ‘carioca’ for longer than we thought.
Katy Perry – Before Rihanna's Smurfette, it was Katy Perry bringing the character to life in The Smurfs films (and her premiere outfits were so in character it was amazing to see).
Shawn Mendes – He totally was Lyle in Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile, and he made it such a cool crocodile!
Of course there are many others too, so let us know which ones are your favorite characters voiced by our favorite singers!
